Supporting Brynn Through Cancer Treatment Round 2

Donation protected
Well, here we go again.

AN UPDATE: February 15, 2024

If you don’t know the whole story, scroll down and read my story from the beginning.

In July 2023, I finished my last round of chemo hoping I would be done my cancer treatment for good, but expecting to potentially need radiation. In September we did a PET scan to see if radiation was needed or if I was done treatment. To mine and my Oncologist’s surprise, all of my original cancer was gone, however, there was a lymph node that was still inflamed that had been there on previous scans, but did not respond to my original treatment. It was decided that it would be best to wait and see if it did anything before treating it further, as it could have just been a swollen lymph node from fighting off a virus or something. It is too close to my thyroid to do radiation, so that was off the table. They were not confident doing a biopsy to investigate, because it was too small to get a viable sample, but felt like it could possibly just go away if it was just a virus.

At the end of November we did another PET scan, but found that the lymph node had now tripled in size and was more likely to still be cancer than an inflamed lymph node from fighting off a virus. Now that it grew, they could do a biopsy to see if it was still cancer and if I needed more treatment. At the end of January, my biopsy results came back positive for Hodgkins Lymphoma again, meaning more treatment.

This second round of chemo consists of 9 weeks of chemo, and 3 - 4 weeks in Vancouver for a stem cell transplant. Apparently this isn’t the super scary kind of stem cell transplant because I will be using my own stem cells instead of a donor’s so there is no risk of rejection. However, it’s still not going to be easy.

I started my first week of chemo on Tuesday, February 13. So I will hopefully be done with treatment at the very latest end of May. I will not be able to work much, if at all on my Business, but definitely not be able to get a job for consistent income during my treatment. Treatment is quite brutal and I only have a few hours of energy a day (that’s going off my last treatment plan, this round is different drugs, so I’ve been told this one is more intense).

Therefore, I do need more help getting through the next few months to pay for bills, food, mediations, travel to and from Vancouver, and other living expenses.

We are using the same page as last time, and our last goal was $15,000, which we so gratefully achieved. So if we could aim for $10,000 this time to get me through, that would be incredible.(New Goal $25,000 + Original $15,000 + New Goal $10,000) I know times are tough for everyone right now, and I absolutely HATE asking for more money, but sometimes we just need some help, and this is one of those times for me. If you don’t feel like you can send much money, just know that $10 can go a long way, and that’s okay. Anything and everything is appreciated.

My family and I thank you so deeply for any contributions you can make, and for any words of support. I am honestly pretty devastated to have to go through this again, but I know with love and help, I’ll be able to make it through again. This time for good. Let’s get me fricken healthy again, am I right?!

With love and gratitude,
Brynn
