Supporting cambridge contemporary art
Donation protected
We have closed cambridge contemporary art and cambridge contemporary crafts until it is safe to open again. We are continuing to sell online through our website, with one member of staff going to the gallery once a week to pack up orders (staff are working on their own and travelling by foot or bike to get to the premises). We are updating our websites everyday with new artwork.
For every £2.50 donation you are invited to collect a greetings card at cambridge contemporary art when we re-open. The more you donate, the more greetings cards you can collect in the future!
We are known for our wonderful range of greetings cards in both shops and we are asking you to support us by by donating the equivalent of a greeting card on this fund. If you can donate more then we would be extremely thankful.
We are a small creative tight-knit group of staff, run by Nathalie Staples. As a team we are determined to survive the COVID-19 outbreak. We have applied for rent reduction on our premises, and will look into the grants and loans offered by the government. We have many costs that we will have to continue to pay such as the website and database subscription, staff wages, the security system and the insurance to name only a few.
We currently represent 500 artists across both our premises, who we work with directly. As you will be aware, many self-employed people are being hit particularly hard at the moment. By supporting us you will be enabling a local, independent business to survive, which in turn will support many artists.
Thank you for the outpouring of support and kind wishes for our staff and artists since our last newsletter. cambridge contemporary art has been on the high street for almost 25 years and cambridge contemporary crafts recently celebrated its 10th birthday - we will do everything we can to survive another 25.
We are really going to miss talking to you all, we feel very lucky to have such friendly and loyal customers who have supported both the gallery and the craft shop over the years.
Thank you,
Nathalie, Rhiannon, Zuza and the team
