Supporting Charities and Building Communities

Hi, I'm Rob Cairns and I founded Fund A Fest which is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that hosts large-scale outdoor events on behalf of North East and national charities.

• In just six months in 2022, we raised £60,000 for charity. We hope to see this figure grow exponentially.

• We work with a wide range of charities, including military charities, community centres and sports clubs.

• Small charities – we stage events they don’t have the capacity to stage themselves. We raise more money than they could too!

• Arts and culture – we bring in local artists to provide entertainment at our events. This creates additional opportunities in the arts and raises the profile of local performers.

• Local economy – we source refreshments, equipment and entertainment as locally as possible to the event.

• Mental health – we create great days out that bring people together, strengthen communities and get people outdoors. All these factors can improve mental health.

• Fight against the cost-of-living crisis – some events have been cancelled because of rising prices. But we can always stage ours because they are funded by private sponsorship.

• Support Veterans and disabled people to engage in events and to be part of the performance or creativity.
