Supporting Charlie Kenney and his family
Dear friends of the Kenney’s, to know Charlie is to love Charlie. He has a larger-than-life personality, whose smile, laughter and wit are only matched by the size of his heart. Charlie knows no strangers and makes friends with anyone that crosses his path. His love of Rodeo is the only thing that comes close to that of his love for his family and friends. He is an amazing, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
In late June Charlie was diagnosed with prostate cancer with metastases to his bones. Charlie and his family chose to seek treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. During Charlie’s follow up visit on October 27th Charlie sustained a broken femur d/t a complication during testing this has resulted in a longer stay in Houston than originally planned. While getting cleared for surgery on his femur tests revealed a blood clot close by his heart and a rotting tumor in his femur. On October 29th Charlie underwent a Catheter procedure to have a filter placed to catch the blood clot so he could undergo surgery to repair his femur. On October 30th Charlie was able to have surgery they were able to replace his hip and remove the tumor from his femur.
This fundraiser is set up to help offset the cost of medical and travel expenses for Charlie, Renee and their daughter Amanda Dessel, who accompanied him to Houston and are staying in Houston for the duration of his stay. If you would like to assist with their financial burden, any donation thru GoFundMe would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go directly to Charlie’s medical costs and travel expenses for his family.
