Chloe’s Healing Journey Update

March 2023 Chloe is 7 months past her accident and 4 months post hospital. She is still working at adjusting to all of the new ways of doing things. True to her style, Chloe is staying very active and busy. She was able to do ski lessons with CADS and Rocky Mountain Adaptive. She has been taking a course at MRU and has become very busy with therapy appointments at the Synaptic Neuro Rehabilitation Centre. She is attending therapy sessions about three times per week, which is made possible thanks to this GoFundMe. As Chloe will be front-loading therapy over the next two years, this fund is going to be a very important part of enabling her to continue with her treatments. Chloe is also starting serious research into stem cell and alternative therapies/treatments. Of course, this will not be an inexpensive endeavour. We do not know what these therapies will cost, but we still feel the goal of $60,000 will help Chloe with the ability to keep her therapy at Synaptic a priority, and provide her with the ability to pursue alternative treatments/therapy should her research lead her down that path. Thank you for giving to Chloe. Thank you for sharing this with your network. Thank you for keeping Chloe at the front of your minds. We all are moving forward like normal before August 5, but Chloe’s path is still very bumpy and requires a great deal of support. We know she is grateful for each and every one of you.
Our goal is to help Chloe live her best life!

--------------------------
On August 5, Chloe was in an accident that fractured her spine, resulting in paralysis. She is in recovery at the hospital and faces several months of intense therapy as the initial part of her healing journey.

Here is what we know so far. After spending the first few weeks in ICU and the Spinal Unit at Foothills hospital, she has transitioned to the Special Service Unit for spinal rehab and strength development. She will be here until she can go home. We are hoping and praying for complete healing while, at the same time, following the guidance of doctors and therapists.

Chloe will need so many things to move towards her independence (wheelchairs, ramps, lifts, transportation, income for living expenses, roll-in shower and many more things). The family will be accessing all available funding, but there will be a need for significant ongoing financing. Another considerable expense is the bill for the ambulance and air transportation that was required to get Chloe to the hospital. Therefore, we are increasing the goal and asking you to keep Chloe’s story in front of your friends through social media. We can do this together.

Though incredibly challenging, the days and months ahead are less daunting because of all your love and support. Chloe and the family are so thankful. Let’s do this together. With so much love and appreciation - thank you!
