Supporting Cristo Rey’s First Graduating Class!

Donation protected
Hi everyone. As some of you know, Cristo Rey San Diego’s inaugural class is graduating this year. We are so excited that our founding students have made it to this point and are so happy that we get to celebrate in their accomplishments.

Our plan has always been to go all out for this first class, but we need your help to make sure everything is successful. Below is the list of events we have planned.

College Signing Day: All of our students will announce this day what college or university they will be attending next year. This is a tradition at other Cristo Rey schools that we want to replicate at CRSD. This is especially important to share this news with our entire school community to continue to promote a college going environment. Each student will receive a t-shirt from their future school. We will also have a light reception for students and families.

Senior Trip: The Class of 2024 will be heading up to Six Flags Magic Mountain followed by dinner in LA. This will be their last opportunity to hang out as a class outside of school & celebrate being done with final exams.

Prom 2024: “Meet Me at Midnight” is the theme of our first ever prom. We are having this event at the Mingei International Museum and we have a DJ, photo booth and special treats planned for the juniors and seniors.

Baccalaureate Mass: Our last mass that the graduating class will celebrate together. In addition to the mass, we have special awards to honor some of our outstanding seniors as well as a light reception following the mass at the University of San Diego.

Graduation: Also at USD, this ceremony is the culmination of our students efforts that we plan to include not only students, families and our staff, but also other stakeholders who have been invested in our school.

Donations will help cover the cost of these events which also include the college t-shirts; tickets & bus to Six Flags, meals for the senior trip; photo booth, DJ, desserts & drinks, decorations & photographer for prom; caps & gowns, diplomas & diploma covers, invitations, program, awards, musicians, desserts & drinks, photographer and videographer for the mass and graduation ceremony.

$23,000 should help us cover the cost of all of these events. That breaks down to a little over $620 per student. Anything that helps us accomplish this goal will help reduce the amount that we need to cover to make our inaugural graduation a success!
