Supporting darren and his family

Donation protected

Hi my name is sammy I’m darrens sis (as close as ) I’ve known darren for quiet sometime and along side his mum uncle and the people most close to him have been working extremely hard with darren, as everyone knows darren “spanner” he is a mot tester at Halfords Newton Hyde and has worked there for many years

as people are aware darren got rushed into Tameside hospital on the 31st March 2021 after spending what seemed to be a nice normal day, on getting there he was quickly assessed and his mum ( Jackie ) got told he had a bleed on the brain and was rushed very quickly to Salford royal darren got rushed down to the operating theatre for emergency surgery where we all sat very scared worried frightened and not knowing what lay ahead for him..hours and hours passed and he was brought up to intensive care unit where we thought yes he’s made it only hours after for him to have yet another massive bleed on his brain again and having to be rushed back down ,this time it was more serious as he had suffered a stroke darren spent 8 days in critical care in an induced coma to keep him resting and the bleed from getting bigger and bigger so his body could try to recover from all the trauma..

10 weeks on darren has been moved into a rehabilitation centre where he is now trying his best and hardest to fight back to himself, having everyday therapy ot sessions speech and language long hard physio basically darren is learning about himself and his life all over again, the stroke left him one sided and he can’t properly yet use his right leg or arm he can’t stand and is just after 10 weeks saying the odd word the rehab team will continue to work everyday very hard with darren to get him back to the best they can and although this is going to be a very very long slow process we as a family are determined to help

with his mums permission I have set up a go fund me page to help darren get the best care and to have the best of things in life , not only to learn with as part of his rehab but to help him at home when the time is right for him to do so

adaptable items for around the home electric chair the little things like a holiday with his family with disabled access all round

days out with his children the list is endless with to many things to mention if you could donate to this as much or as little as you can so we can make a start on darrens road to recovery we would be extremely greatful

A massive thank you from myself Jackie and darrens family and many many friends
