Supporting Debbie Friesen through cancer

I would like to introduce you to my sister, Debbie, who has been in the military for 20 years. She has for many years had challenges with sleeping and this is taking a toll on her body. Breast cancer has now complicated the matter. She is wanting to get treatment in Mexico for the sleeping challenges combined with cancer treatment, because she has not found any solution from the doctors she has seen in Canada. This is costly and she would like to raise $50,000 to make this trip with a companion to the Immunotherapy Institute (or another similar one, if this one becomes unavailable at the time). They focus on the whole person, and some of the treatments she would receive would include specific Hyperthermia, Cryoablation, T Cell Modulator Therapy with a personalized Nutrition Care plan for each person; many more therapies can be seen on their website, https://immunotherapyinstitute.com. These all support detox, cellular nutrition, and target overall body health. The purpose would be to correct the sleeping challenge and with that fixed, hopefully her body would have the ability to fight the cancer more efficiently and effectively. This treatment is not found in Canada.
She has had breathing issues, which only got worse after two nose surgeries. Debbie has been using Breath-Right Strips for over a decade in order for her to get any sleep. She has since discovered this was a developmental defect, and her nose and mouth cavities were not formed properly. This has made her nose cavity too small, and the muscles in the nose are not pulled tight enough, which causes one of the nostrils to collapse when sleeping. The appliance she is looking at getting to pull the roof of her mouth down would be about $15,000.
Depending on the funds raised, she will also have more thorough tests completed, which may cost up to $5,000. Currently, she is trying to balance all her body functions, and due to a lot being out of balance, she is working with someone to get the right nutrients into her body. After just one week, she noticed her energy had improved and now she can walk again, which is very important for her healing both emotionally and physically. This would be estimated to cost about $1500/mth, so she would like to raise enough to cover part of what she has already spent and going forward with the goal of $36,000.
The total fundraising goal of $100,000 does not include all the other treatments she has been doing (IVs, other supplementation, hyperbaric oxygen chamber, sauna, oncothermia, lymph massage, etc, etc).
Here is a bit of history that will give you a small picture of her journey up to now:
- her ability to sleep suddenly stopped working about 8.5 years ago
- tumour discovered in 2021, and diagnosed with two different types of breast cancer - - combined with chemo, her sleeping challenges only got worse
- chemo stopped working after two treatments, about the time our Father passed away last fall
- the tumour seemed to have developed a hypoxia pocket
- right now surgery is risky as there is a big chance it won’t remove all the cancer, and any disturbance can cause the cancer to then spread to the rest of the body.
If she raises above what she needs, she will use any extra funds for the supplements and other treatments that she is using and pass on any surplus to help others’ who are facing similar challenges with either cancer or sleep quality. Depending on how much is raised, would determine what she would be able to do.
Debbie is such a caring and giving person, having blessed many people over the years. Now is the time we can be blessing her. She is hoping to go to Mexico by the end of 2023 or beginning 2024. Thank you for your gifts in advance. It is greatly appreciated, Darlene.
