Supporting Denises fight to beat Lyme this time

Over the last 12 years, it's been difficult watching our Mom struggle with this illness. She has gone from being a lively, energetic woman to someone who struggles every day just to get out of bed in the morning. However, she has always been a warm, loving and incredibly generous individual who has always gone out of her way to help anyone in need.
Lyme disease is a controversial disease within the medical community. Most physicians in Canada don’t even believe that Lyme disease exists. In 2010, our mom went to see her doctor to treat her worsening symptoms and was misdiagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica. After years of failed treatment plans and taking medications with adverse side effects, it became clear that her condition was not improving and was getting worse.
In 2017, she met with a new doctor that suggested her symptoms could be related to Lyme disease. They started by taking costly blood tests sent to a lab in Germany that tests for specific antibodies in the blood associated with Lyme disease. These results came back, confirming the diagnosis. Unfortunately, because her symptoms went untreated for so long, she developed chronic Lyme disease, making this illness even more challenging for her to fight.
During this fight against Lyme, our mom received a combination of expensive antibiotics and naturopathic treatments not covered by health insurance plans. Lyme is incredibly difficult to treat, and she was feeling defeated, exhausting all of her treatment options available in Canada. Finally, through research and connecting with other chronic Lyme patients, she discovered a treatment facility in Mexico called Sanoviv Medical Institute.
This medical institution creates a targeted patient-specific program specializing in whole-body hyperthermia to treat Chronic Lyme disease. The comprehensive in-patient treatment is a two-week program that has helped many Lyme patients finally get back on the path to healing after struggling with this disease for many years. This aggressive 2-week program comes with an aggressive cost of $28,455, with the option to extend the treatment plan by another week if need be. Our mom hopes to attend this treatment facility sometime in the late summer or fall of this year.
We are so grateful and happy to be able to create this page for her. She has fought far too long with this illness, and we want to be able to get her the treatment that she needs so she can stop living in pain every day. Anything you choose to give will be accepted with a full and grateful heart. Thank you for all of your kindness and generosity.
