Supporting Elaina's Eye-Injury Recovery

Hi, my name is Chris. In late May of 2021, my little niece—Elaina Grace Lucente—suffered severe eye trauma resulting in her left eye loss. The road she has been on has been a very difficult one for both her and her whole family. Since then, she has had nine surgeries, multiple counseling sessions, and occupational therapy to offset the injury-induced trauma. Also, due to the injury, she has regressed, making life more difficult for her and her parents. They are currently training her atrophied eye muscles with the help of a scleral lens that will fit over her entire eye and allow it to close and rest properly, thus correcting the atrophy. They hope to eventually provide her with a covering that matches her eye color. This will help her with her confidence—which she is in short supply of right now—but for now, the doctors are focusing on stretching her eyelid and strengthening those muscles.

As you can guess, the medical bills have been non-stop for my brother and sister-in-law, and they have reached a point where they desperately need financial support to help pay for these continuing bills. First and foremost, we ask that you keep Elaina in your prayers for God's healing, comfort, and protection to surround this precious little girl. We ask that you pray for His will to be done for her and her family and for His wisdom for her parents. Finally, for the sake of my niece, my brother (Mike), and my sister-in-law (Stephanie), my family and I are asking that you would please consider donating to this fundraiser to help Mike and Stephanie alleviate some of the medical bills that they perceive to have for the foreseeable future as they try to recuperate.
