F/V EmmyRose four fishermen’s families
We have set up this page to support the families of the F/V EmmyRose and to ease their financial burden. The F/V EmmyRose sank early Monday morning, November 23, off the Massachusetts coast. This tragic accident involved three Maine fishermen and one from Gloucester, Mass. Any money raised from this fund will go directly to their families.
The following crew members are experienced and skilled fishermen: Captain Robert Blethen Jr of Georgetown, ME; Jeff Matthews of Portland, ME; Ethan Ward, of Pownal, ME; and Mike Porper, of Gloucester, MA. Any amount of support will be greatly appreciated by the families.
The crew on the F/V EmmyRose were honorable men. All were extremely passionate about the fishing industry, but most importantly, they loved and cared for their families more than anything in the world. Robert, Jeff, Ethan, and Mike would rest in peace knowing that their loved ones are going to receive the support they deserve.
These four families lost a husband, a father, a son, a grandson, a brother, and a nephew right before the holidays. These families need all the love and support that our community can give.
These four men were the best out there. They will be deeply missed, but they will never be forgotten.
Who you are and your relationship to the intended recipient(s) of your fundraiser's donations?
-I am Rosalee Varian, and the men lost in this tragedy worked for my father.
A detailed explanation of how the funds will be spent
- This fund is for the four men lost at sea. Not the F/V EmmyRose. These men were the breadwinners for their families, and their families have lost the men that kept the roof over their children's head, and clothes on their backs. The total of the proceeds will be split into four equal sums, which will be dispersed through me to their families. These funds are intended to help ease the financial burden of losing the men of their household and to support the young children that have lost their daddy's.
Your plan for ensuring your fundraiser's donations reach their intended recipient(s). This could be clarifying that they will be added as the beneficiary of the fundraiser, or if they have authorized you to withdraw the funds on their behalf and deliver the money to them outside of GoFundMe.
- I have spoken to the families of each of the crew members about creating this GoFundMe page and have been given permission to collect the funds and I am responsible for ensuring these funds reach the recipients 100% as intended.
