Running Against Time – Help Me Find Answers Before It’s Too

Tax deductible

We are raising funds to support Fatima, a 40-year-old woman who is in the early stages of dementia. Fatima has always been deeply committed to making a positive impact in her community, particularly through her work with children in cultural, religious, and recreational associations.

I am currently in a marathon, running alone among humans, praying for time to slow down—just enough for me to uncover the problem before I reach a point where I can no longer grasp anything around me.

Imagine a girl running, holding onto her brain, dragging it along from place to place, desperately trying to figure out what’s wrong. She stumbles, exhausted, but she keeps going, determined to find answers. I fear reaching a moment where she stands alone in the dark, and the brain she was carrying is no longer with her.

This is the best way I can describe what I am going through. My cognitive abilities are slipping away, little by little. My memory is fading, my ability to recognize faces is deteriorating, and I struggle with basic recall. I know something is wrong, but the very system that is supposed to help me is failing me.

I believe everything happens for a reason, and I truly have faith in that. But unfortunately, there is an unbelievable level of negligence from both the hospital treating me and the doctor overseeing my case. I am fighting against time, but the very people who are meant to help are slowing me down with inefficiency, carelessness, and a lack of urgency.

A crucial test—biomarkers that could help detect Alzheimer’s or another neurodegenerative condition in its earliest stages—has been mishandled twice. The first time, the hospital sent my sample without proper cooling, rendering it unusable. The second time, the foreign laboratory refused to accept it, yet the hospital refuses to disclose why. I am left in the dark, battling both my own mind and a broken system.

I can’t afford to waste any more time. Every passing day means more cognitive decline, more lost memories, and a step closer to the unknown. I see only one solution—to travel to a country with a laboratory capable of performing this test properly.

But I can’t do this alone.

I need your help. I need people to run with me in this race to find answers before it’s too late. I need the resources to seek proper medical care before I reach a point where I can no longer advocate for myself.

I can feel myself slipping away, little by little.

Your support can make all the difference. Please help me in this fight.
