Supporting Heidi So She Can Support Others

Heidi Stallings has never stopped striving for excellence.  As a dedicated singer, actress, musical director, coach, master teaching artist and educator, she has always had a strong commitment to being the best she can be and to bringing out the best in others.  Even after years of working on Broadway and in national tours (Evita directed by Harold Prince, Zorba with Anthony Quinn, directed by Joel Grey, Cats directed by Trevor Nunn), her passion today is working with children, youth and young adults in the New York City public school system and surrounding areas, helping them find the joy, confidence, and empathy in self-expression through the performing arts.  Her commitment to children and youth has taken her from her work as a voiceover artist in her late-husband, Michael Sporn’s, animation work, to the front lines of the New York City public education system, bringing her work to new and joyous levels.  There’s been no stopping our dedicated and talented friend – until now.  
 
Heidi has been in the ICU at NYU Hospital’s Langone’s Kimmel Pavilion, stopped suddenly by a barrage of serious health challenges as well as hopelessness in not knowing where to turn.  Heidi well understands, as many of us do, the challenges that come with being a freelance artist/educator in our country, where the first day spent in ICU will cost an average of $10,794.00 and where the cost of health care can dramatically detract from an individual’s ability to serve their community.  
 
This is an incredibly difficult time for everyone, but every little bit can help.  Won’t you please help us help Heidi with this overwhelming challenge, so she can get back to doing what she does best – supporting and changing young lives in schools and community centers across our region.
