Supporting human rights scholars of Ukraine
Donation protected
Dear colleagues
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has resulted in devastating consequences for the people of Ukraine, including loss of innocent lives, destruction of property, the flow of millions of refugees in neighbouring countries, and forced internal displacement.
In such times of war and conflict, human rights scholars (including those working in the business and human rights field) are especially vulnerable. While some organisations and universities are offering support to scholars who left Ukraine, those who stay because they cannot or do not wish to leave Ukraine for various reasons may also need financial and other support in months and years to come.
As part of our moral responsibility to support these human rights scholars of Ukraine, we aim to raise AUD70,000 by 30 April 2022 through this crowdfunding campaign. The collected funds will be used to offer support to at least five human rights scholars from Ukraine during 2022. Based on the level of response to this campaign and the assessment of evolving needs in Ukraine, we may plan additional campaigns or scale up this global call.
The funds collected through this crowdfunding campaign will be distributed on the recommendation of two scholars from the region: Jernej Letnar Černič, Professor, New University (Slovenia), and Beata Faracik, President, Board of the Polish Institute for Human Rights and Business (Poland).
Please contribute generously to show solidarity with human rights scholars in Ukraine experiencing an extremely difficult situation. Should you have any questions or ideas concerning this campaign, please contact us. Thank you in advance for your support!
