Supporting James's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
I don't know how to begin to express the rollercoaster our lives have been on since October 6th, the day James was rushed to Baptist Medical Neuro ICU. What we thought was an ordinary day turned into an unimaginable nightmare. Just 12½ days later, he underwent emergency brain surgery, revealing the daunting diagnosis of Cryptococcus Meningitis in his brain - news that shook us to the core.
The days that followed were a whirlwind of emotions, treatments, testing, doctors, and painful sleepless nights. Finally, on November 3rd, we were able to bring James home. But our battle against this rare and complex illness has only just begun. The treatment plan demanded a two-week course of intravenous medications, followed by an extensive 1½ year regimen of exceptionally rare oral medications that come at a staggering cost.
At the front end of this holiday season, we're not just asking for help to cover these expenses. We're asking for a lifeline to ease the weight of several thousand dollars in co-pays and ongoing medical costs. The sudden loss of work and wages has left us in a financial whirlwind, piling up for life's essentials that we're now struggling to keep up with.
Our goal is simple: we want to reach a point where we're not drowning in debt, where James can focus on healing without the constant stress of financial worries.
Your kindness, thoughts, and support during this incredibly trying time mean the world to us. Every little bit counts - whether it's a donation or simply sharing our fundraiser with your network. Your support will bring us closer to making sure James can concentrate on his recovery and well-being, giving him a chance at regaining some normalcy and peace in the chaos.
From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your generosity and care are what give us hope during these dark days, beginning to see the light.
