Supporting Juanita and Lyn's livelihood after Eaton Wildfire
Donation protected

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,
We are reaching out with a heartfelt plea for support for our dear Matriarch, Juanita West-Tillman, and her daughter, Lynnette West-Cater, who suffered an unimaginable loss in the recent Southern California Eaton wildfires. Early Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025, Juanita was abruptly awakened by an overwhelming smell of smoke. With no evacuation alerts or incoming fire truck sirens, she and Lyn fled their homes with only the belief that they would return once the danger had passed. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Their homes were completely destroyed.
Though we are grateful that no lives were lost, we are grieving the loss of a home that had its own heart and soul. Juanita's home held countless memories and served as a hub of community and family life. From cherished gatherings to civic fundraisers, Juanita's home was a vibrant cornerstone of the Altadena community. Now, as they begin to rebuild their lives, we have an opportunity to help clear the smoke and give them the air they need to breathe freely again.
Juanita has dedicated her life to education and civic leadership. A retired elementary school teacher with 30 years of service in the Pasadena Unified School District, she has continued her commitment to helping others as a real estate agent and co-owner of Westlyn Realtors, serving municipalities across Southern California. Beyond her professional achievements, Juanita is also a community leader, and currently serving as Secretary of the Pasadena Branch of the NAACP. Her countless contributions to education and civic initiatives have made a profound impact on our community, and now she needs our help.
Juanita’s daughter, Lynnette, also lost her house. Lynnette has tirelessly worked to support first-time homebuyers as co-owner of Westlyn Realtors, and Sales and Marketing Director at Heritage Housing Partners. Her involvement in civic and philanthropic efforts has been instrumental in helping many families achieve their dreams of home ownership.
Now, it’s our turn to support Juanita and Lyn.
Your contribution, no matter the amount, will make a tangible difference. Together, we can show Juanita and Lyn that they are not alone and that their global community stands beside them in this time of need.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
With deepest gratitude,
Juanita and Lyn's Family
