Supporting Just Be Rooted's Journey to a New Home

Dear Community,

We are Just Be Rooted, a company deeply committed to providing eclectic, holistic mental health care to marginalized individuals in the Tampa Bay community. Since our inception in 2019, we've faced numerous challenges along our path, but none have deterred us from our mission.

In December 2022, we experienced our first forced move from our original location in St. Pete to Tampa. Despite the setback, we remained steadfast in our dedication to serving those in need. However, the challenges persisted as our new landlord presented us with an ultimatum: either relinquish our furniture and office space or accept severe restrictions on our usage. Advocating for our rights led to the termination of our lease, forcing us to relocate once again.

Despite the adversity, our community rallied around us, urging us to persevere. It was a humbling experience to witness the unwavering support for our mission. As an anti-oppressive, anti-capitalistic organization, we believe that quality care should never be hindered by financial barriers. Our commitment to this principle led us to become an NHSC approved site, expanding our reach and enabling us to offer "pay what you can" counseling services.

We are thrilled to announce that we have found a new, affordable space to call our own. However, we cannot do it alone. We are reaching out to our community for support in securing our new office. Your donations will go towards essential expenses such as the security deposit, rent for March-May, moving costs, furniture, and supplies for our waiting room, as well as taxes and fees.

Our goal is to move in by March 1st, and with your help, we can make it happen. Together, we can continue to improve access to healthcare in Tampa Bay and provide vital services to the QTPOC and LGBTQIA+ community.
