Supporting Kaya's fight against bone cancer
Donation protected
Our brother-in-law, colleague, and friend, Kaya Gezlev, was diagnosed with a tumor that was pushing on his pituitary gland and brain stem. While they were able to remove the growth this week the post-surgery recovery has been more difficult than expected.
*update*
The doctors did determine it is chordoma, a rare bone tumor that forms in your spine or skull base. All subtypes of chordoma are considered cancerous (malignant). Chordomas are generally resistant to radiation therapy and chemotherapy as primary treatment and therefore surgery is the best treatment but difficult because of the location of the tumor. Even with surgical removal, chrodoma tends to come back. Kaya and his wife, Amanda, need our collective support to help in his fight to restore his health.
It will be a long road and your contribution can make a huge difference in Kaya's fight, providing not just financial relief for the estimated out-of-pocket expenses but also a surge of strength and solidarity that he and Amanda can draw upon during the challenging days and months ahead. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to ensuring Kaya receives the best care, access to treatments, and the love and support he and his wife need to get through this.
Please, if you're able, donate now and be a part of Kaya's journey.
