Supporting Khoe and San People of South Africa

Cape Khoe Tours is a company that organises tours to aboriginal, Khoe and San Communities in South Africa. Our organisation has a strong social development intention. In addition to offering tours, we would like to offer community development processes to the communities we visit, help community’s access income through tourism as well as receive financial support and donations in kind. We hope also to subsidise South Africans who are aboriginal descendants to come on tour in search of their ancestral lineage. We have self- funded our first recon trip around South Africa meeting aboriginal communities to see how we can partner and collaborate. We will pilot our tours in 2024.

The Khoe and San Communities have been removed from their ancestral lands and placed on reserves with not much infrastructural support from the South African government. Tourism is their main income generating avenue. The impact we are working towards is to grow the micro economies of these communities.

With this campaign we seek to raise 30 000, 00 ZAR for our second recon trip end November 2024 to three communities in the Northern Cape, Platfontien, Oliphants Hoek, Khalighadi. Our objectives for this journey are to offer asset-based community development processes for each of these communities, to strengthen our partnerships and explore how to further collaborate, to create a relevant and authentic tour experience. WE Raise awareness about these communities and open up network channels for them to access donations.

Most of the money raised will be used for transport and fuel costs including trailer hire. We intend to transport much needed donations to these communities with this trip. We have been gathering donations to transport, so any support with food hampers, clothing, craft supplies, material and sewing machine cotton, water, seeds, gardening tools, soccer and netball gear and stationery will be welcomed.
