Empowering Dreams, Safeguarding Futures: Supporting Local Female Manufacturers
Dear Bee-loved Supporters,
Today, we stand at a pivotal moment, where the fabric of the small business journey is interwoven with both challenges and opportunities. The economic landscape has shifted, as we're all aware, and it is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Bewildher's forthcoming closure. Bewildher's story, filled with passion and creativity, has continually been nurtured by your support.
Yet, as they navigate this difficult transition, they ask for support not for themselves but to make a difference in the lives of those who have been the backbone of their brand. Their local female manufacturers, alongside their dedicated teams, have breathed life into their designs, infusing them with quality, dedication, and a touch of magic. Living in the vibrant city of Vancouver, where the cost of living and rent is steep, their livelihoods are intrinsically tied to Bewildher's success.. and closure.
This GoFundMe campaign is committed to ensuring that Bewildher's closure does not leave these incredible women and their teams hanging with unpaid invoices. This campaign has been set up by a Canadian Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and the beneficiaries will be Ecodigitec Sublimation (print shop), SLA Trading (garment factory), and other local small businesses impacted by the loss of Bewildher's business. In the face of these challenges, we recognize the profound impact that supporting local female manufacturers can have, not only on their lives but on the very fabric of our shared future. The decision to support them now goes beyond the immediate; it lays the foundation for the potential birth of new brands like Bewildher down the road. Their expertise, craftsmanship, and collaboration are treasures we aim to preserve in our community.

A Heartfelt Message from Bewildher's Founder
I find myself sitting down to write this with a mix of emotions – gratitude for your unwavering support, a sense of vulnerability, and the hope that this message will resonate with you on a personal level.
When I started Bewildher, I embarked on a journey fueled by passion, a vision of slow fashion's potential, and the determination to weave change into the fabric of an industry that often prioritizes profits over ethics. With our higher price points, I'm sure many assumed I must be thriving, but the reality is quite different. My sacrifices were many and the truth is, the only silver lining in my personal bankruptcy is that, after almost a decade of tirelessly working to nurture this brand, I find myself with no material possessions and seemingly nothing left to lose except my reputation.
The path that has led me to this point has been winding, strewn with challenges that have humbled me. I stand before you today, baring my heart, and acknowledging the hurdles I’ve faced. The weight of filing for bankruptcy is immense. Alongside this, I’m carrying the heartache of recent multiple miscarriages, where stress inevitably took its toll. However, through it all, the resilience that has sprung from these experiences fuels my unwavering commitment to uphold Bewildher’s ethos.
Amidst the challenges, the one thing that remains unshaken is the unwavering belief in the slow fashion movement – a belief that has shaped Bewildher's journey from the beginning. It's not just about clothing; it's about a philosophy that embraces fair wages, sustainability, and conscious consumption. It's about valuing the craftsmanship and creativity that go into every piece, and the commitment to leaving a positive impact on both people and the planet.
As I navigate this crossroad, I am holding on to a glimmer of hope – hope that your support for this GoFundMe campaign can help safeguard the dreams of our local manufacturers, the unsung heroes of Bewildher's story. By standing together, we can ensure their livelihoods are protected, the ties we've woven remain strong, and the possibility of a new beginning emerges.
Your support is an investment in more than just my journey; it's an investment in the values that have shaped Bewildher. Your contributions will help lay the foundation for a fresh start, a chance to reset, and an opportunity to begin again with the lessons learned used to ensure future success.
With deep gratitude for being a part of this journey and with the humblest of hopes for the future,
Nadine Manson,
