Our beloved Lorenzo needs your help. This bright, kind-hearted boy who spends his spare time playing basketball with his friends, going to the beach with his brother and cousins, has suffered a sudden and terrifying cardiac arrest at school November30th, 2023 less than a week after his milestone 18th birthday.

Lorenzo's journey through this ordeal has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. Thanks to the swift response of school staff, EMS and a defibrillator, his heart was restarted, and he was rushed to the hospital. The emotional turmoil we faced, not knowing if he would survive, is indescribable. Witnessing his brother recount the resuscitation attempts at school, we all wondered if the vibrant, loving soul we knew would have the chance to fulfill his dreams. Against the odds, Lorenzo woke up, defying the statistics that haunt families dealing with cardiac arrest.

Mercifully, Lorenzo breathes again on his own, though the light behind his eyes remains dimmed by trauma and pain. The crisis may have passed, but the fight continues. As Lorenzo slowly mends his battered body and spirit, he required surgery and additional rehabilitation to support his recovery. The enormous medical bills now threatens us.
