Supporting Maggies in memory of Peter Spence
Donation protected
In November last year my Dad, Peter, was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4 mesothelioma cancer. As an incredibly healthy and active person, this news left myself and the whole family in a state of shock. Dad sadly passed away in June 2021 however during his last few months Maggie's provided hugely invaluable support and counselling which helped him process and come to terms with his diagnosis.
Because of this incredible support, my cousins (Ben, Will & Alex) and I are raising funds as a team for Maggie's so that it can continue to provide invaluable support to those living with cancer.
To show our appreciation to the wonderful work this charity does, the 4 of us have chosen to take part in 2 challenges to raise funds for Maggie's Oxford:
The UK 3 peaks challenge (climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours)
The 2022 London Marathon
We have chosen the London Marathon in particular because it held a special place in Dad’s heart. He ran the Marathon twice with his identical twin brother Graham (pictured above and father to both Ben and Will) whilst our Grandfather took part in the first ever London marathon.
Any donations that you can offer will undoubtedly go a long way to help Maggie's, Oxford support others in need.
