Supporting Maleia’s Stage 4 Lukemia Battle
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Erica Lopez and I have created this gofundme with the permission of both Carlos and Letty Mireles.
My heart is extremely heavy as I write the following words: Maliea Mireles, Age 14, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 B-Cell Prolymphocytic Lukemia, or B-PLL.
Maleia, a freshman at De La Salle Institute, St. Richard School alum, and softball + volleyball player has a long journey ahead of her as she battles this rare form of cancer. Her loving parents Carlos and Letty, brother Xavier, sister Anela, family, friends, and teammates are obviously devastated with this unexpected diagnosis. She is currently in the Pediatric ICU at Christ Children’s Hospital. She has a tough battle ahead of her and will be staying at the hospital for the time being receiving chemotherapy multiple times a week.
Due to this sudden diagnosis, her parents will need to take time off of work to be by her side on her journey. This will cause a financial strain on top of the already emotional strain this has caused the family.
I am reaching out to all who know Maleia and her family for support. I know not everyone reading this will be able make a monetary donation, but even sharing this post or saying a prayer would mean the absolute world to Maleia and her family. Any and all support no matter how big or small is beyond appreciated.
Any funds collected will be used for primarily two reasons: to help support the family’s monthly expenses/make sure basic needs are met and to help with any future medical bills.
Your kindness and generosity are appreciated! Please keep Maleia and her family in your prayers.
