Supporting Monica's Road to Recovery

Monica Kauffman is a wife, mother, sister, daughter, an amazing educator and wonderful friend to so many around her.

Monica and her husband Darin, have 2 amazing sons, both in high school.

This September, Monica became very ill and on Monday, October 14th she was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital with kidney failure. While working to get stronger every day, she has endured setbacks and has spent the last 2 weeks in the ICU. Because her kidneys have shut down, she has had some difficulties with her liver and her heart. She is working each day with a team of specialists to help her through this process so that she can eventually get to rehabilitation. While in rehab, she will work to regain her fine and gross motor skills, her speech and swallowing and overall physical ability. Once she is able to be released from rehab, she will work with her team to obtain a kidney transplant. While Monica is improving each day, she has a long road to recovery. The next days, weeks and months are unknown for their family. We know they will need support, love, encouragement and lots of prayers. Right now, we want them to focus on their family and Monica's healing journey. Any support you can offer is greatly appreciated!
