Support Nicolette Through Tragedy: Honour Richard’s Legacy

Donation protected
Hello friends, family, and the Melbourne music community,

We’re reaching out to you to support Nicolette in this incredibly challenging time. Nicolette’s beloved husband, Richard, a well-known and iconic figure in Melbourne’s music scene, recently passed away suddenly from cancer. Richard was a talented musician who left his mark in bands like Underground Lovers, Crow and Black Cab as well as his own band Registered Nurse and more recently his solo project RJ Andrew. He was also the founder of Pharmacy Records. He poured his heart and soul into his music, and his legacy will be felt across Melbourne’s music community for years to come.

Tragically, Nicolette’s hardships didn’t end with Richard’s passing. She was already on carer’s leave, caring for her mum, who has a terminal brain tumour and has a very limited life expectancy. Now, Nicolette is facing the unimaginable task of grieving her husband while caring for her dying mother. Nicolette is dedicated to her work in palliative care, yet as you may imagine, in this line of work, returning to work right now simply isn’t an option.

On top of this emotional toll, Nicolette faces an uncertain financial future. With Richard dying, she is suddenly down to one income and now faces immediate costs like mortgage payments, funeral expenses, and unexpected costs from their recent wedding, as well as necessary home repairs and car repairs. She is also caring for an elderly dog who has athritis and a heart condition, as well as another dog and an ageing cat, a fish and chickens, who were a cherished part of life with Richard. There are always monthly veterinary bills.
She is now alone in facing all these overwhelming costs, and the future of her home is uncertain.

This is where we hope to come together to help. Any support, big or small, will make a difference in easing Nicolette’s financial strain and giving her the time and space to grieve and begin healing.

Please join us in honouring Richard’s legacy and supporting Nicolette as she faces the unthinkable. Thank you for being part of this journey and helping lift Nicolette up in her time of need.
