Support Organic Farming in a Fiji Village
Donation protected
My recent trip to Fiji, I was looking forward to eating foods I grew up with-fresh bananas, papayas, and fresh vegetables. I was disappointed to know that not all fruits and vegetables are chemical and pesticide free, in the market stands. Fiji has rich volcanic soil and I know of a young man who is educating his village on Vanua Levu to do organic farming, and not to use chemicals and pesticides. This village is getting started in this effort. There's long days of hiking and camping out in the forest to find seedlings to bring back to the village to plant as well as clearing off the farm land in the village by hand to create gardening plots. In an effort to help this village , I would like to raise money so that they can purchase tools needed to prepare the land, and fencing material to keep wild boars out of the gardens. Please join me in giving what you can to help this village achieve this goal! Besides providing healthy food for the community, I'm hoping that this will catch on and the whole island can be pesticide and chemical free".
