Supporting our friends at FDNY EMS Station 7
Donation protected
During these unprecedented times of COVID-19, we are raising money to support our neighbors the FDNY EMS Station 7.
Our initial goal was to sponsor at least one meal a day for the next two weeks for the EMS workers in our neighborhood (there are three shifts of 30 people per day).
The EMS workers are working 16 hour shifts, four days in a row, and some are even sleeping at the station. This is an important opportunity to support our local restaurants, as well as our FDNY EMS Station neighbors who are on the front lines fighting against COVID-19.
We are so deeply grateful for your support for EMS Station 7, located at 10th Avenue and 23rd Street. In these difficult times, generosity and community support are the forces that will soothe the mind and body. We are all struggling to make sense of this new reality, but those on the frontlines of this pandemic are putting their lives at risk for the benefit of all of us. This project grew out of appreciation for their efforts.
We are now into our fifth week of providing meals for FDNY EMS Station 7 in Chelsea. The EMS workers are incredibly grateful for all of your support and have expressed ongoing appreciation for the nutritious meals your contribution has allowed us to arrange for them each day. We have surpassed our original fundraising goal and, as of today, we have raised $24,100. This phenomenal generosity from our community will provide meals for at least another two weeks! In addition to the team at FDNY EMS Station 7, we have also been able to supply meals for the overnight shifts and the EMS Division 1, which controls the operations of all ambulances in the NYC 911 system.
The restaurants who have prepared meals for this project have all been more than generous, providing meals at very discounted prices and adding extras well above the cost we were able to pay.
As we move ahead in this time of crisis, we hope you will support the restaurants that have supported our EMS teams. Almost all on the list below have remained open, and all provide delicious meals.
