Supporting Peggy's Medical Expenses

My name is Skylee Lara and I am the grandchild of Peggy DeMus. My grandma is a >20 year cancer survivor, going through breast cancer in her early 40's. She has been cancer-free and has had many healthy years with her family.

Just days before her 67th birthday, what started off as medically-perplexing symptoms has unfortunately been determined to be an aggressive cancer that has spread. We are devastated by this news.

My grandparents are the kind of people who would give you the shirt off their backs and anyone who knows them can attest to that. They are also very proud and do not ask for help or want to worry anyone. That's why I am setting up this fund in order to ease financial concerns that they have. They are on a fixed-income and the medical costs, travel to and from appointments, and any lodging necessary are unknown at this time but are a heavy burden to bear in such heartbreaking circumstances.

They are trying chemotherapy and immunotherapy options at this time to see how the cancer responds.

We greatly appreciate all of you reading this. If you cannot give monetarily, my grandparents would appreciate good thoughts, prayers, and well wishes.
