Supporting Rita in her fight against Breast Cancer

Two weeks ago, our dear friend Rita Pontes was surprised with a scary diagnosis of Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS). Unfortunately, this type of Breast Cancer involves a series of treatments which include surgery and chemotherapy. Rita has amazing doctors at the Yale New Haven Smilow Cancer Hospital and they are encouraged by the fact that her lymph nodes are not affected.
While we know that Rita will fight this bravely and get through it, it will be at least 5-6 months of a battle that will make it very hard for Rita to work. Rita is so strong and one of the most dedicated and hardest working people we all know, but as an entrepreneur caregiver and private chef, it will be hard for her to manage expenses if she is focused on her health and healing.
Rita is the warmest, kindest individual and if you have received this fundraiser link, you have very likely been touched by her love or you know someone that has. She is selfless and giving first and foremost and an amazing example of goodness for us all. Let's return the love by making her fight a little less stressful and help her beat this!
