Supporting Rob Seddon The Good Samaritan

Donation protected
Hi everyone, Firstly, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support you have given us. The overwhelming response from family, friends & the local community has been amazing and we will be forever thankful for your support. We have been inundated with many people asking how Rob is so we would like to give an update to everyone that has supported Rob & his family during his recovery journey so far. It has been a slow 10 months since Rob's assault, although there has been some slow progress. There have also been a lot of setbacks with Rob being in and out of hospital with many illnesses and infections. Unfortunately, he will not recover from his injuries and it is not likely that Rob will have significant changes to his functional independence moving forward. But we can always pray for a miracle. He is unable to use his left arm and leg at this stage and is currently in a powered wheelchair with the assistance of someone driving for him. All of the above limits his capacity to stand and he can only sit unsupported for a short period & requires intermittent support. He remains in an amnesic/confused state and continues to have difficulties with orientation, remembering new memories, and self-management. He is inconsistent with following simple instructions and remains passive, very rarely initiating communication of his basic needs or feelings. Below is a video made by his daughter showing his recovery so far.

As time progresses there will be many out-of-pocket expenses in the future. The endless hours of travel to and from Sydney to be by Rob's side are not only affecting the family mentally but financially as well. With the cost of living increasing and juggling time off work is becoming a real struggle with mortgage payments and general expenses with Rob not being able to work at all. The Drs have not given a full recovery timeframe at this stage for his injuries, so every little milestone is something to celebrate. For everyone that has contributed so far, it is greatly appreciated. A share with your friends and family and other people in the community would also mean the world to us. Thank you.

Our beautiful family has been rocked by a senseless act of violence as reported in the media over the past few days. https://fb.watch/fb2VrSnkRx/ On the 27th August 2022 at Skyhawk Avenue, Hamlyn Terrace on the NSW Central Coast, our brother-in-law Robert “Rob” Seddon was violently attacked in an unprovoked incident as he was coming to the aid of a car accident victim. A group of males approached Rob then coward punched him in a violent confrontation, he fell backward hitting his head on the ground knocking him unconscious. He was critically injured and is now fighting for his life in hospital after being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he underwent brain surgery to relieve the pressure from his brain. Not only was Rob injured in the incident, but other family members who also came to the aid of the driver of the car accident, were also assaulted with non-life threatening injuries. Rob is a loving husband/father/brother/uncle/friend and did not provoke this senseless attack on himself and his family. Your kind donations will go towards helping with Rob’s ongoing medical expenses, as his condition is still critical and the prognosis and length of recovery is unknown. We are hoping that with your help we can make the financial burden of this act of violence easier for our sister Angela, niece Lara and nephew Kyle so they can focus on his recovery. Any donation will be much appreciated. Please keep Rob, Angela, Lara and Kyle in your thoughts and prayers.
