Supporting Russell Bray

As many of you have already heard, my dad Russell, one the strongest people I've ever known, as just been handed his toughest challenge yet. After struggling with symptoms for quite a while, he has been diagnosed with cancer and is now looking at an aggressive treatment schedule with the next six months already planned out. The timing of everything means that he will be unable to fish for the 2023 lobster season. Between that and the costs associated with traveling for treatments, this will be a costly diagnosis, even after health insurance coverage.

Russell has been serving his community for years, both as Assistant Chief for the Deer Isle Fire Department, and as a long-standing board member for the Stonington Lobster Co-op. Both him and my mom Carol have been the first people to help someone in need, without a second thought. This time it's them that could use a hand, and they honestly didn't want me to do this intially, as they don't want to take from anyone! But if there's anyone that deserves it, it's them.

My sister, Mom and I have had so many people reach out to ask how to help, and it is all so appreciated. One of the best parts about this community is how we rally together in times of need, and it is already showing again.
