Help Sandra Recover and Achieve Her Dreams After Cancer

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to read this page.

We, parents, have set up this "go fund me" page on behalf of our daughter, Sandra.

Sandra is a remarkable young woman, full of creativity and dreams. At 17, she was an A-level student, excelling in English and Drama, and was eagerly looking forward to her future. Sandra has always had a passion for painting and storytelling, with a dream to become a book illustrator. Her love for drama led her to explore acting and scriptwriting, where she found another outlet for her boundless creativity.

However, life took an unexpected turn just four months before her 18th birthday. On the 17th of June, Sandra was diagnosed with a brain tumor, the size of an egg. It was medulloblastoma, a serious and aggressive form of brain cancer. The news was devastating, but Sandra faced it with incredible courage.

She underwent brain surgery, and though the operation was successful in removing the tumor, it left Sandra with significant challenges. The surgery has impacted her ability to walk, and she now relies on others or wheelchair for mobility. As a right-handed person, losing the use of her right hand has been particularly difficult, making tasks like writing and drawing—her greatest passions—impossible without assistance. Additionally, Sandra’s speech was affected, leaving her unable to speak for three weeks. She now requires intensive speech therapy to regain her voice.

Sandra’s cognitive abilities have also been impacted, particularly her short-term memory, making learning and daily tasks much more challenging. These hurdles have forced Sandra to take a year-long break from her education, just as she was preparing to finish her A-levels and step into the next chapter of her life.

Despite these challenges, Sandra remains determined to continue her education and achieve her dreams. However, the road to recovery is long and requires extensive physiotherapy, speech therapy, and other support services. Sandra’s 18th birthday will be marked not with celebration, but with the beginning of chemotherapy, another battle she must face with courage and resilience.

We are reaching out to ask for your help in raising funds for Sandra’s rehabilitation. With your support, we can provide her with the therapy and care she needs to regain her strength, her voice, and her independence. Our goal is to help Sandra return to her studies, finish her A-levels, and continue pursuing her dream of becoming a book illustrator.

Sandra is a talented, bright, and determined young woman. She has always been full of ideas, energy, and a passion for life. We believe in her strength and her ability to overcome these challenges, but we cannot do it alone. Your generosity can make a real difference in Sandra’s journey to recovery and help her reclaim the vibrant life she had before her diagnosis.

Thank you for taking the time to read Sandra’s story and for any support you can provide. Together, we can help Sandra become the same lovely, talkative, and creative young woman she was before and ensure that she has the chance to fulfill her dreams.
