Most may know that Dustin and Amber Pittsley have a son named Sawyer. But what many may not know as that Sawyer was born with several brain abnormalities that continue to contribute to his verbal and physical deficits.
He has been diagnosed with Isolated Cerebral Dysgenisis, Central Hypothyroidism, Diabetes Insipidus, Cerebral Palsy, Hypo plastic Cerebellum....The doctors aren't clear on what causes Sawyer's deficits, but his cerebellum did not develop fully invitro. And the doctors aren't clear on what Sawyer's long term future will look like.
He will be 5 this fall and still isn't able to talk or walk. He takes a cocktail of medications to help with thyroid levels as well as seizures. He takes costly CBD oil that is not covered by insurance. In addition to the expensive medicine, he travels out of state every 3-4 months for a Botox procedure to help reduce spasticity in his muscles that is done under anesthesia. This is also not covered by insurance and cost more than $4000 a year, not including travel expenses and time of from work.
After 2 years on the wait list, The Little Lighthouse was finally able to accept him. There he is able to receive physical, occupational, and speech therapy. But unfortunately at age 6 Sawyer will graduate out of Little Light House and his family will need put him in to a private school that can work with kids with his needs. The tuition is expensive. In addition to a new school, the Pittsley family is also having to make major adaptations to their home to accommodate for Sawyer.
Dustin and Amber have never asked for help. And they are humbled that this community of ours want to ease some of the financial burden so that they can focus a Sawyer. Any contribution you can give will be more than appreciated!!!
In addition to this go fund campaign there will be a live recorded music benefit August 19th 3pm at Shrine Venue.
The proceeds from this event as well as the album will all go directly to the Pittsley family
