Supporting Shaela Through Cancer This Season

Just a few short but very long months ago Shaela was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer at the young age of 34. As to be imagined this news came as a shock to her and especially those who love her and in that moment it became very clear that cancer doesn’t discriminate.

Shaela is genuinely one of the kindest human beings to ever grace this Earth, ask anyone who has met her! She certainly didn’t let the diagnosis define her or steal her bright light. In typical Shaela fashion, she put on that gorgeous smile and made sure those around her felt comforted as she went for test after test, biopsy after biopsy and now even as she undergoes aggressive chemotherapy.

Those who have the pleasure of knowing Shaela knows she would never ask for help because she is always the one helping others. That is who Shaela is, she is a source of comfort and care to anyone that knows her and now she needs the same from us.

Shaela has undergone 2 of 6 rounds of chemo, and is scheduled to have a mastectomy after completion and radiation to follow.  Treatment is anticipated to take 12 months with already building medical bills that aren’t covered by insurance.  Due to the nature of her job and with Covid still lurking Shaela is forced to take leave from work while she undergoes treatment.

The last thing she should have to worry about when she is fighting for her life is money. I understand with The Holidays approaching finances are tight but anything helps even if you can only share her fundraiser. Thank you and God Bless.
