Help support Steve and the McFall Family

Hi, my name is Christine and I’m Steve and Sandy’s niece. As some of you may know Steve received a double lung transplant in April of 2016. A week ago Steve and his family flew to Florida from California for vacation and once they arrived he was transported to the hospital. He was diagnosed with pneumonia, adenovirus, and sepsis. Steve has already been in the hospital for over a week and his care team has said he may be in the hospital for another month. He has a long road ahead of him with an infection to fight in his immunocompromised condition. We all know Steve is a fighter! When he is discharged home, he will not be allowed to fly back home to Los Angeles, California. Transportation will have to be arranged with home oxygen for a cross country trip to get Steve home.

Sandy and Steve are not ones to ask for help. They have always gone above and beyond to help family and friends. My goal of this gofundme page is to help ease some of the financial strain so Steve can focus on healing and gaining strength. Sandy and their son Erik can remain in Florida to support Steve at the hospital. Their son Shaun has been flying back and forth depending on his Dad’s condition. The donations will go towards medical bills, unexpected lodging in Florida while Steve is in the hospital, time away from work for Sandy, and a rental car. Having this illness occur in Florida away from family, friends, their support system, and his UCLA medical team has made matters all the more complicated.
