Supporting strays in Ohrid, Macedonia-Ohrid Strays

Guys this is us - OHRID STRAYS
We live in Ohrid,Macedonia (Europe). Macedonia is experiencing an epidemic of stray dogs. Unfortunately, the government does not do anything about this. There are some public “shelters” that are in such poor condition that most of the animals die due to the lack of resources.
There are individuals who have taken it upon themselves to volunteer and save animals. Like us. We fundraise and receive donations from people but it is definitely not enough, so most of the time we pay out of our pockets. We need help and support for neutering, feeding, healing, vet expenses, private pensions and shelter care until we find them happy homes.
One of the biggest problems strays face are that the people of Macedonia continuously poison them. They lace meats/treats with poison and the dogs/cats die a slow and torturous death. The government does not do anything about this, and they continue to allow these savage behaviors.
Like volunteers we work so hard to send as many dogs as possible to other parts of Europe where they get adopted. If you like a dog/cat from our facebook page or instagram page we will try to make it possible to get to you across the world.
We also look for injured animals and we bring them to get the proper care they need at the vet. Likewise, if we find an animal that has been poisoned we intervene and bring them to the vet to save their life.
There have been incidents of people hitting dogs with axes, people hitting dogs with cars/motorcycles, and even kicking/punching them.
Not only do these strays need medical help and protection, they also need to eat.
They are starving to death. They are skin and bones covered in mange.
Alone ourselves we have created a small paradise where we keep our rescue animals, a place that is sadly not ours and does not have electricity. Struggling to make it all work and save as much animals as possible.
