Supporting Taurée in a Time of Need

It is with a heavy heart I share that our beloved Taurée has passed away today as a result of the devastating carjacking incident he endured almost a year ago.

A son, brother, cousin, and friend to all, Taurée brought a wave of love and warmth with him in all interactions. He lit up every room he walked into with a beaming smile and welcoming embrace.

A beautiful soul inside and out, Taurée also created community through his passion for music as a talented singer, songwriter, and performer. He truly is the voice of an angel taken far too soon.

Funeral and other arrangements will be announced as they are solidified. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.

On Monday, February 20th, at 8:30 pm, my 28-year-old cousin Taurée stopped off for a bite to eat. Upon returning to his car, he was carjacked in Jamaica, Queens by three individuals. In an attempt to prevent them from driving away, he was thrown from the vehicle. This unfortunate event has caused a traumatic brain injury, including internal bleeding and swelling of the brain.

Due to his condition, they had to remove the right side of his skull to reduce the brain swelling and keep him alive. He is currently in a coma on intubation with an unknown future.
