Supporting the Anthis Family

Donation protected

As many of you know, our mom, Kim Anthis, was urgently taken to Good Samaritan hospital on Tuesday due to extreme confusion and abnormal behavior. She spent 32 hours in the Emergency Room because there were no beds available in Vincennes, Evansville, or Indianapolis. Thankfully, a bed opened up eventually and she is now at Deaconess in ICU. Her confusion, combativeness, and extremely high blood pressure led doctors to believe she might have meningitis. She has had a lumbar puncture, EEG, CT scan and many other tests done to figure out a diagnosis. While we are still waiting for some labs, doctors are beginning to think she doesn’t have meningitis/ encephalitis and may have something call Serotonin Syndrome, due to a interaction of medications she is prescribed. Her blood pressure is better, her temperature is coming down, but she is now developing other symptoms. She is by no means out of the woods. Doctors are still not sure exactly what is going on or how long she will need to be in the ICU. This is a very stressful time for our family, especially for Jim, who is trying to work, take care of Delaney and sit with her at the hospital. We are so thankful for all of your prayers and positive thoughts during this time. Any donations would be greatly appreciated to ease the financial stress of having to take off work and pay for expensive medical bills. Our family is truly blessed to having so many caring and loving people in our lives to help us through this time.
