Supporting the Best of Butte

Monica and John Cavanaugh have been the warm smile and heart for countless Irish musicians and dancers, and a joyous force for “Butte Ireland” via their store, Cavanaugh’s County Celtic. Monica has been battling cancer for a few years, though you would never have known it, and they have new challenges from the coronavirus quarantine, which shut down the store just as St Patrick’s season was getting underway. The mix of the store and medical expenses has left them facing their own mountain, and, as crazy as this time is, it would be wonderful if the vast number of Irish musicians, performers, and lovers of the culture who know them and the Butte festival and community could give back. This is totally my initiative, and not Monica’s. She is much too reluctant to impose. But it would be awesome if we can be a bit of a “Wonderful Life” team in saying thank you to these lovely people, and reaching out a warm Irish hand in their moment of need.
