Supporting the Family in the Wake of Peter Groves Passing

Hello everyone,

It is with heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Peter Groves on the 5 December 2024.

He was not just a coworker but a beloved friend to many in our community, his Partner Candice and his Mum Julie-Ann are in pure disbelief along side with the rest of his family and friends.

Peter was a Driller with us in the Goldfields WA, his last 7 years it was a privliage to watch him grow into the amazing man we all know and love.

The news heartbreaks us, it has taken a toll on everyone around Petes life. He was one of them blokes who had non stop energy from when he woke up ready to go Drilling to finishing his day and heading off to his swag to call his #1 Candice.

There was never a dull morning or day at the Rig when Peter was around - that energy, that smile, that laugh you had Pete will not be forgotten and we will miss you so much my friend.

Peter left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was our Friend, he was our Mate, he was a Partner, a Son, a Brother and a loving human we will dearly miss.

Pete was a very fun filled person, a big heart and someone you could just sit down with and chat to for hours, he brought us a lot of joy in everyones lives he was in.

There is a lot about Peter we all loved so much about him, but in the end we have lost our good Friend. We'll miss you Petey.

Unfortunately, this sudden loss has left his family in a challenging financial position as they manage the unexpected cost of a memorial service, funeral and other immediate expenses. We are starting this GoFundMe to alleviate some of the financial burdens during this difficult time.

The funds raised will help cover Funeral costs, any debts and to support the immediate family.

We aim to raise $25,000 to ensure Peter is remembered with the memorial he deserves
