Supporting the family of Alica and Zoey!

To our friends, family, and any kind soul who has stumbled onto this page. I need your help.

On April 22, 2023 my family suddenly lost an irreplaceable part of our hearts and this sudden loss has left a 9-year-old Zoey without her Daddy, and a loving fiance, Alicia, without the financial means to raise their daughter alone–just 22 days shy of saying “I do.”

Kevin was a great dad, a caring son, an amazing brother, a longtime partner, and honored friend to more lives than we can imagine in his short time with us.

No one in our family realized that behind Kevin’s big smile was so much pain, and it is this haunting thought that will forever remain a question for us all, “Why did we not see how sad Kevin was?”

Kevin had dedicated his entire life to his daughter and partner of more than 10 years. They were his life, his everything, which is why none of this may ever make sense.

In just 22 days, he was going to make his and Alicia’s longtime partnership official. He was so happy–so filled with joy at the formality of it all. Alicia & Kevin may have never gotten to officially say I do, but she was always his bride, and he her everything.

Kevin was hard working, caring, and always had a smile and big belly laughing joke to share, and to lose him in such a way is an absolute shock and tragedy that will leave scars in our hearts forever.

For Alica and Zoey losing their father and life partner so quickly and unexpectedly has left us in absolute shock and despair. The life they were all building together has been stolen from them and Alica is now faced with raising Zoey as a single mother.

Through this page we not only want to support Alica & Zoey, but bring light to the importance of reaching out for help in dark places.

The pain of the daily impact of Kevin’s loss is so real, and the agony dealing with the reality of their Daddy being gone, the countless unanswered questions, and the acceptance that their lives will be lived without Kevin forever, is something our sister and her little family will feel forever.

Knowing that Zoey will never know the joy of running to the living room when daddy gets home again, and that she will never have her father walk her down the isle, breaks all our hearts in ways we could never begin to describe.

Lives are often built with the plan that both parents will be there to provide for the family, and funeral costs are something that no family plans for–especially at such a young age.

We are hoping to raise funds to for counseling for Alica and her 9-year-old daughter to help guide and support them through the trauma they have experienced, and anything left over will help in supporting Alica and Zoey both now and in the future.

The specialist childhood trauma counseling for Zoey at least $5,000. Anything further raised will enable Alicia to not be forced to go back to work immediately, and to remain with her daughter as long as necessary to help her family heal and recover.
