Final Update for the Herbison Family

The family of Kristy Herbison would like to thank everyone who has donated over the last year to support Kristy and Stephan. We are heartbroken to report that Kristy lost her battle with ALS on June 6, 2024. Kristy was a christian and we know her final breath on earth was her first breath in heaven. Because of the generous donations of this community, Kristy had the assurance that her medical needs would be met. There is a lot of work to be done to defeat ALS. We will continue to support our local, state and national ALS organizations with the hope that fewer people will have to suffer from this devastating disease, but this GoFundMe will no longer be accepting donations. Family and friends, we are asking for your prayers and financial help for Kristy, Stephan and Ryan Herbison.

In January 2021, Kristy received the devastating diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease). She is no longer working due to mobility and speech issues brought on by the continuing progression of this debilitating disease.

On April 27, 2023 Stephan suffered what was thought to be a mild heart attack. Upon further testing, it was determined he would need a quadruple bypass. Stephan survived a long and difficult surgery. God is good! We are so grateful for the many prayer warriors that have cried out to God on their behalf. God heard our prayers, and after 10 days in the ICU, Stephan was released back home.

Prior to Stephan's heart attack, the Herbisons’ medical bills had begun to pile up. Due to Kristy’s disease, and Stephan’s extended hospital stay, they have become insurmountable. Stephan was self-employed as an independent contractor but will now be unable to work for the foreseeable future. He is also Kristy’s caregiver and vocal advocate at her many appointments. Their son, Ryan, will be entering his sophomore year at Hinds Community College, and is a pitcher on the baseball team.

This fundraiser has been established to help ease the financial burden that these medical emergencies have put on them.

We do not want Kristy and Stephan to bear this financial burden alone, so we are reaching out on their behalf. All the money collected will be going directly to support the medical bills and sustain the family during this difficult time.

We are asking you to continue to pray, and if you are able, please donate to this precious family and share this Gofundme account on your social media, so that we can bless them through our giving. It is our desire to alleviate some of the day-to-day financial pressures on Stephan and Kristy and support them in this time of need. All donations will go directly to the medical/financial needs of Ryan, Kristy and Stephan.
