Supporting the Lakeman family
Donation protected
It's every parent's worse nightmare as we never expect to organise a child's funeral. The Lakeman family moved to the village of Swimbridge roughly 7 years ago and have been a part of our community during that time. They have recently moved to Landkey where they have other family members.
Tragically Brandon, their 19 year old son, lost his life in a terrible accident. He will not only missed by his family and friends but also by all those who knew him in the areas he grew up. He went to primary and secondary school in South Molton and onto Petroc to further his studies. He was often out and about in Swimbridge village collecting his younger siblings from the pre-school and primary school and was well known in the Jack Russell pub, setting up the skittles for the ladies and men's teams.
Brandon was a lovely young man. He was quiet, polite and had a brilliant sense of humour. A fantastic son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. His passing will be a huge loss to all those who knew and loved him.
We are raising money to help with funeral costs and to support the family at this incredibly difficult time.
Swimbridge pre-school has very fond memories of all the family and this is our way of showing our love and support. The chair of the committee will be in charge of the final expenses and will see that they are distributed in the correct manner.
The funeral is at the end of September and we want to raise as much money as we can through September and October to help them. Any contributions, big or small, will be hugely appreciated.
