Supporting The Lott’s after some devastating news

Steve’s story ❤️

I guess the difficulty is, you never really know how much time you have. You never know how quickly life can change.

Loss is hard, whether it’s your family, your friends or someone you know about through someone else. It takes us by shock no matter what and no matter when.

We are never prepared for loss. But loss at an age where it seems unjust becomes so challenging. As a family we unfortunately been here before and now once again we are faced with losing another loved one so young .……

My nieces are going to grow up without their father there.
My sister is going to continue life without the man she loves beside her.

My brother-in-law, Steve is only 44 and was diagnosed with a rare cancer, Nasopharyngeal Cancer. One that we thought he was going to beat. One that we were sure was going to be treatable, and we thought this time the outcome was going to be positive.

After two rounds of chemo, 7 weeks of intense daily radiotherapy and multiple meetings with fantastic doctors, the news came that the tumour had shrunk, and we felt as though things were turning around…. we were wrong.

We are so grateful for the NHS and the doctors that have supported Steve through such a difficult time however, we were faced with the devastating news that the cancer had burrowed into his skull near his brainstem and had become untreatable.

The chemo didn’t work.
The radiotherapy didn’t work.
Surgery isn’t an option.

Now?

My amazing brother-in-law is now facing palliative care, The Royal Marsden have now taken on his case with the focus of quality of life. Our family’s focus is now around what comes next. With two beautiful daughters, and an amazing wife. I wanted to do anything I could to help, so this has led to me creating this go fund me page.

Any donation will go towards helping Michelle (Steve’s wife) and my nieces when he’s no longer with us. We don’t know how much time he has left and for us, getting his affairs in order is a priority for Steve, so that he doesn’t have to spend his last months/year on earth worrying about how he is going to ensure his family’s safety and security once he’s gone.

The thought of losing a loving father and husband comes with the risk of losing their family home, a place where the girls grew up and somewhere they had intended to continue to build a life together.

All we want is the ability to make Steve’s life (for however long that may be) as beautiful, memorable, and comfortable as possible and let my nieces create some lasting memories with their father… This has led me here. Steve is 44 – no child should be saying goodbye to their father.

Any donations/ sharing – no matter what size, would make such a difference to our family. Could you help?
