This past weekend, we lost our brother-in-law, Conor. He leaves behind my baby sister and their three young children. The weight of grief from the past year and a half feels overwhelming, heavy and endless, but the incredible kindness shown to our family has been a source of solace, bringing with it a constant flow of both sad and happy tears. Thank you all for holding us in your hearts and continuing to hold us up.
Conor McCarthy, 41, departed this earth too soon.
From camping under starlit skies to casting lines in the surf, Conor's love for the outdoors was a constant source of joy. Sundays spent at the beach, cool nights around the fire and Friday pizza with his family were the moments he treasured most. His affinity for motorcycles took him on countless journeys, each ride a story and every road paved with the freedom he craved.
An old soul with a love for unique antiques, Conor was a collector who valued the stories behind each piece. He found solace in the crackling warmth of vinyl records and the discovery of new music. His evenings were often spent with good beer in a pint glass, accompanied by the melodies that spoke to his heart.
Conor grew up in Norwood, PA and graduated from Interboro High School. It’s there that he found his passion for soccer. He loved the game and was so happy to coach his children on the pitch. Graduating from Williamson Trade School with a focus on carpentry, he honed his skills with dedication and passion.
Conor leaves behind his beloved wife, Ashleigh McCarthy (Porter), and their cherished children Lachlan James, Rowan Gail and Waylon Edward.
Conor was loved. Truly loved by his own family, his in-laws, and the friends he made along the journey. He had a special place in his heart for the Wallaces, too.
He is predeceased by his loving parents James and Helen McCarthy. Conor's love for family was unwavering, his pride in his Irish heritage deeply rooted. All values he attributes to his late father.
Conor will always be deeply loved and forever missed.
