Supporting the Nasenyi Jewish Community of Mbale
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser to support a small, rural Jewish community located in Mbale, Uganda. There are many Jewish communities throughout Uganda, known as the Abayudaya, including three communities in and around Mbale. While their commitment to Judaism is strong and passionate, the people are nevertheless poor and struggling. They love to learn Hebrew and Torah, they celebrate all the Jewish holidays, and they do their best to keep Shabbat and the laws of Kosher/Kashrut. But they have very few resources and poor infrastructure.
As Jews, we are taught, “Kol Yisrael Areivim Zeh Ba-Zeh,” “All the people of Israel are responsible for one another.” We need to support our fellow Jews, even when they are halfway around the globe. They battle illnesses, weather disasters, corruption, and many other obstacles. If you are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Funds raised are sent directly to the members of the Nasenyi community, and has a direct impact on their lives. Thank you for your assistance!
