Supporting the Sharp Family

Hi family and friends. Thank you for taking the time to read about this Gofundme. I am raising money for my dearest friend’s family. We work together at a local psychiatric hospital. Our staff deals with sickness, heaviness, and hardships every day. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for our patients. Every day, we all come together, around a table, and problem solve for our patients. And now, our sweet friend is having one of the most difficult times of her life, and needs our help. I’m humbly asking you all to come to the table with me, and help me problem-solve for my beloved friend and coworker, Brittney.

Brittney Sharp started her social work career doing case management for outpatient mental health services. She then worked in child protective services. She worked tirelessly ensuring the children of Rutherford County were safe and had their needs met. This is where I met Brittney. Brittney then moved her social work career to a local psychiatric hospital in 2021, and worked on the adolescent unit. She worked many late nights, missing out precious time with her own children, because she deeply cared about the work and the children and parents who relied on her. I cannot count how many times Brittney would remain at work, long after everyone else had left; she stayed, and sat with the adolescents through all their difficult moments. She eventually moved to Utilization Review, and continues to be one of the most dependable and loved staff in our hospital. As you can see, Brittney has spent her entire adult life serving others and helping people through the most difficult times of their lives. It is my goal to now help and serve Brittney’s family.

Brittney is married to Davin Sharp. They have two beautiful children, Jaythan (6) and Oakley (2). During Brittney’s pregnancy with Oakley, Davin was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, widely known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease. Davin quickly went from chasing his first child, to being wheel chair bound. Davin’s disease has progressed quickly and aggressively these past two years. Their family is in dire need of assistance and resources. I often say this, and I don’t think people understand how serious I am being: Brittney is the absolute best person I know. She cares about social work and people so much. She parents so compassionately and consciously. She is gentle, empathetic, passionate, and always smiling. Davin and their boys have the same qualities. Their family is precious, positive, and so strong.
