Supporting the Stover Family

Donation protected
On Sunday, November 12th, Bonnie and Shawn Stover planned to have a fun family dinner, eating pizza and visiting with their kids. Before their kids came over, they wanted to go on a quick walk with their dog, Otis. A drunk driver hit both Bonnie and Shawn in front of their home on Memorial Drive and fled the scene. They were both rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Their middle daughter, Molly, arrived at her parent’s home for dinner only to find the road blocked off by police and her mom’s shoes left in the road. Shawn is still in the hospital recovering, while Bonnie tragically passed away Sunday evening.

Bonnie was the most incredible mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, coworker, and neighbor. She accepted everyone with open arms, exuding positivity and love daily. Her family is left absolutely devastated by her loss. Bonnie and Shawn are college sweethearts, they have been best friends and partners ever since they met. They recently celebrated their 35th year as husband and wife. Bonnie and Shawn had 3 beautiful daughters together, Kara who is 25, Molly who is 26, and Colette who will be turning 33 on November 15th. Bonnie was their rock, best friend, and number one supporter.

The community cherished Bonnie, she touched so many lives and will be dearly missed by all. She was well known as a long-time employee of Linn Area Credit Union. Her peers speak of her kindness, positivity, and warmness. They say that she was the person everyone could rely on for support, encouragement, and a shoulder to cry on. She never hesitated to help anyone in need. Everyone who knew her was blessed by her light.

Bonnie was an angel walking amongst us. An incredible soul was lost that night. Please help support the Stover family however you are able. Rumer and I have been close friends with the Stover family for over a decade. We are hoping to raise money for Molly Stover and her family in order to cover Bonnie’s funeral services and a portion of their medical expenses. There will be a long road to recovery ahead. Thank you all for your generosity and please continue to pray for the Stover family.
