Supporting The Thompson Family After Their House Fire

Donation protected
On April 6th, 2024, a freak solar battery explosion devastated the home of our family in Eleuthera, burning down a house long standing, filled of love and memories. The future for the 75-year-old Pineapple farmer (Philip L. Thompson), a 41-year-old Air Conditioning Contractor (Philip A. Thompson) and his 6-year-old daughter (Jimena Thompson) remains an untold story, but by the grace of God, everyone survived unscathed by the fire.

Most of you know Philip Thompson as either, the friendly caretaker of some rental properties in the area, who left you freshly picked flowers and sweet pineapples(or other seasonal fruit) at the house you were renting, so you can have a little taste of being a local; or you might have bought some pineapples from him at some point. Or maybe you may have hired him along with his 3 sons to build steps on the cliff of your home so you can access the Caribbean sea from the comfort of your own property. Philip is a diligent and humble man who loves his family and treats strangers as family, always putting others first. Traits that he also instilled in his sons and grandchild.

Even during this time when they lost everything, without a place to call home, losing the son's work vehicle and only having what they were wearing at the time, they remain unified, strong and in positive spirits. Both Philips' continue to wake up each day to tend to their respective jobs to bring some sort of normality to their lives, even though the process of rebuilding is sure to be a long and painful one.

Close your eyes and imagine if you were in this situation; where you struggled to create a home during a time when dollars and cents were pounds, shillings and pence, raising a family and creating memories, then watching it all burn to ashes without being able to save any of it. That is what our family has had to endure and now start from zero.

Life is the most precious gift and miracles do happen in our everyday life; 30 minutes prior to the explosion occurring, Jimena (Daughter of Philip A.) was in the room adjacent to where the explosion occurred prior to being taken to another family members house.

By donating to this family, you too, can be a miracle in their lives, by helping them rebuild a home and get the life essentials of clothing, beds, table, cookware, etc. So that they can continue to create more memories for Jimena and touch the lives of many more who they come in contact with.
