Brick Wadley's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
Brick and Raykell Wadley recently moved to Theodosia, Missouri from their childhood home in Rockford, Illinois with their one-year-old son Revan to live their dream life in the Ozarks in December 2022. During this transitional period and the building process of their home, it became evident that Brick was not well and his health was on a decline.

Brick started feeling extreme fatigue, and severe headaches, and at times he would faint or blackout. He discovered that he had a lump on the side of his head and went to the doctor. After an MRI, it was determined that he has two severe cerebellar tonsillar brainstem herniations and a large mass of fluid building up on his brain and would need emergency surgery. Without this surgery, the pressure on his brain will quickly become life-threatening. Brick’s condition could cause him to go into cardiac arrest, go into a coma or paralysis or seizures with permanent brain damage at any given moment.

The surgery could be scheduled at any time and it will be at Cox Hospital in Springfield Missouri with Dr. Strang as his neurosurgeon. The surgery itself comes with significant risks. Recovery from this surgery will require a 6 week stay in the hospital.

As of March 24th, 2023, Brick woke up with yet another new lump on his head and they have taken him to the emergency room to try and expedite the process. Because he is in a long line of other needy patients, scheduling the surgery is taking longer than expected. But they hope there will be an opening for him to get this surgery sooner.

This go fund me is to support Brick, Raykell, and their son Revan's out-of-pocket expenses during this time. Raykell will need to be closer to the hospital as their home in Theodosia is about an hour and a half away from their nearest hospital in Springfield. A daily commute for Raykell and her son to be near Brick would be very difficult, and they will need short-term housing through a hotel or air b&b during this time.

This go fund me is to provide a convenient location for Raykell and Revan to stay during Brick’s surgery and recovery. Housing, food, gas, and baby needs like diapers will be huge expenses that will place an additional burden on this already stressful and emotional journey. We are asking that if you can help support the Wadleys, please contribute to our go fund me. Anything will be a blessing, thank you!
